Malappuram is close to Kozhikode district which is the biggest station in terms of traffic among the nearby districts. Kozhikode (Calicut) is nine hours journey from Trivandrum. For reaching Malappuram, one has to go to Palayam, which is a bus stand in Kozhikode and is approximately a kilometre away from the Kozhikode railway station. Palayam has long distance buses running to places like “Pallippadi” which is in Malappuram district and takes approximately 1.5 hours in a bus. Vettilappara is approximately ten kilometres from pallippadi and the mode of transport is ‘Chhakda’ which takes almost 30-45 minutes to reach Vettilappara. The journey from Palayam to Vettilappara has famous landmarks like REC Calicut and IIM Kozhikode on the way.enHigher education awareness
