In our online Rural Immersion Project spanning 6 days, we conducted an extensive qualitative research on not only the workings of youth based organizations but also the challenges faced by rural youth in availing the opportunities offered by these organizations. We also tried to understand the rural youth’s primary motivations that lead them to join such groups and also their expectations, so as to be able to identify any such gaps, which in our recommendations section, we have suggested ways to bridge. We first conducted secondary research to understand other prominent youth groups active in Gujarat. We then collected a sample of people serving in administrative roles in various government and non-government organizations engaged in social upliftment work. After interviewing them, we also asked them to connect us with local youth who could provide us with ground level insights.en“Formative assessment of existing engagement platformsexpectationsaspirations and community engagement behaviours of young people aged 15-24 years in Gujarat”Rural Immersion project : UNICEF and Gujarat Youth Forum
