During the COVID lockdown period, Bhavnaben’s group produced masks (with the training and the material provided by AKRSPI) and the profits were split between the members of the group. Though her group currently doesn’t have any other business plans. On the other hand, Aratiben’s group has brought a machine for making the cotton wicks for the diyas (small earthen lamps). However, they are still waiting for the construction of the small building where the women will be able to meet and work on this (they expect it to be ready by November end- December). They plan to use the best quality of cotton, and also do the packaging of these themselves, and selling them under the name of the group- splitting the profit ten-ways.enTo study the impact and implications of COVID-19 and the lockdown on the Self Help Groups(SHGs) in the villages of GujaratRural Immersion project : Agha Khan Foundation
