I know, with quiet confidence, that whatever you do, you will do well, with the magic that MICA brings to you. Know that you are not alone. MICA is for MICAns, and this beautiful, green space with red brick walls will be your home forever. Know that your batchmates will still be around, 30 years from now, having shared your journey, the highs and the lows, and still teasing you the way they did when you were on campus. Go forth, knowing that even when you don’t believe in yourself, or when you feel that the world doesn’t believe in you, MICA does and I do, your professors do. When you reach the highs that I know you will reach, remind yourself that your job is to share your wisdom with those who need it the most. But above all, know that nothing can stop you because you are the best of the best when it comes to authenticity, dealing with ambiguity, innovativeness, creativity and empathy, these attributes will make you stand out as you head into a transforming landscape shaped by AI, Quantum Computing, Robotics and Synthetic Biology. I want to leave you with a poem that deeply shaped my life, just when I was leaving MICA, 29 years ago.
