As the Nature of our project was direct weaver incentive, our research and nature of questions seemed to make the supervisors uncomfortable as it was in contrast with the narrative that the weavers were content and happy. We faced issues in having candid conversations with the weavers in their presence as most weavers were not comfortable discussing their pain points and issues with Jaipur Rugs in the presence of their ‘Thekedars’. We visited the families again without any members of the Jaipur rugs team and that is when they opened up about the severe compensation issue they were facing with Jaipur rugs.enRural development & problemsstudy by students
