Each village is a small hamlet on the slopes of the mountains aligned along the way from Gopeshwar to Mandal (the adjacent gram sabha, only 3 km away). This Gramsabha falls on the banks of the river Baalkila, which is a tributary that mixes into the main Alaknanda River near Chamoli. It falls under the developmental block of Dasholi under the Chamoli district.
