Abstract:MICA | TEDxMICA | x=independently organised TED Talk Ranveer Brar, a celebrated chef of Indian origin talks about three personal stories which provide a perspective on how we can help the local economy by supporting the local farmers. The message is to 'eat local' which will let the indigenous foods survive while allowing us to stay connected to our roots. A chef of great renown and a celebrated television personality, Ranveer Brar is one of the few Indians who have truly left their mark in the global culinary space. At 17, he recognized food as his true calling while acquainting himself with the finer nuances of kebab making and the rest, as they say, is history. He began his illustrious career at the Taj Mahal Hotel in 2001 and has since then left his mark at many highly celebrated hotels. From opening the Best Restaurant in the World as awarded by ‘The Wallpaper’ magazine to hosting popular TV Shows like “The Great Indian Rasoi” and “MasterChef India” among others, Mr. Brar is truly one of India’s finest food connoisseurs. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
