The project is being implemented by 10 local organizations across these districts, along with active community participation. The programme was jointly conceptualized and initiated by WASMO and CSPC, further collaborated by Rural Development Department, Government of Gujarat and US based Conrad N. Hilton Foundation. Somnath predominantly has a Gujarati population and the communities include the Kharwa, Ahir, the Kolis, Lohanas, Memons, and many others.Sutrapada is one of the six municipalities (Taluka) in the Gir-Somnath district of Gujarat. The Aga Khan Rural Support Programme ( AKRSP ) is a private, non profit organization, established by the Aga Khan Foundation in 1982 to help improve the quality of life in several villages.
