Item Rural research project : Jaipur Rugs(MICA, 2017) Roychowdhuri, Somdatta; Agrawal, Abhishek; Paul, Abhishek; Jain, Priyansha; Ananthu RaviOn the last day of the orientation, all the eleven groups were informed about the different projects Jaipur Rugs had to offer. We opted for the project named ‘Blessings’. Two teams were assigned the village of Badijodi. Badijodi is a Village in Shahpura Tehsil in Jaipur District of Rajasthan State, India. It belongs to Jaipur Division . It is located 71 KM towards North from District head quarters Jaipur, 11 KM from Shahpura, and 69 KM from State capital Jaipur. On the last day of orientation, after lunch all of us embarked on our journeys to our respective villages.Initially we were all taken to Dhanota by bus, and then team by team they were being dropped at the nearest districts to our villages. We got off at Shahpura. There were four teams including ours, which had to deboard the bus and then sit in a big auto where all our bags were tied to the carrier of the vehicle. Fitting into the auto was a big task for us. The 11 kms to Badijodi in a way gave us enough to base our expectations of the village and the environment. We realised that we had reached the village when we moved from broad, dusty roads to quieter by-lanes.
