    (MICA, 2017-07-19) Ms. Dolly Thakore
Dolly Thakore's career is remarkable. She talks about what theater has taught her, beyond acting. The theater is an emulation of life and some of the best life lessons are taught to you on the stage. A recognized name in the theater and film industry, Dolly Thakore has been one of India’s leading newscasters and television hosts. She has been actively involved in social work through organizations like Citizens for PEACE, Laadli etc. She has performed in many successful plays like ‘Vagina Monologues’ and ‘Death of a Salesman’. She started her career in radio and television with BBC London and her foray into films was as a casting director and unit publicist for Richard Attenborough’s Gandhi. She has also appeared on the silver screen in the movie “Page 3” and on television in the show “Kya Hoga Nimmo Ka”. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
