Sakhi pads are affordable and environmentally friendly sanitary pads made by co-operative societies set up by women coming together. There are a total of 170+ such groups across the country with 10 members each. The Vatsalya Foundation has been progressively creating its own set of standards centred on children's rights and protection, as well as nutrition, education, health, empowerment, family life, play, equality, and emergency aid. A structured rehabilitation process, as well as regular follow-up with children on the streets, day care centres, shelter homes, and youth group homes, has been implemented, and in many cases, the child has been successfully repatriated to the family and mainstreamed back into society. Vatsalya is working towards removing the taboo over menstruation in the country. Also they aim to increase the availability of the same by decreasing price and setting india post for delivery so that they reach every locality in the country. In our country, the topic of menstruation hygiene is underappreciated. Menstrual hygiene requires the usage of sanitary pads and the cleansing of the vaginal region. Poor menstrual hygiene can cause perineal irritation or rashes, unpleasant odour, and, in extreme cases, serious problems such as pelvic inflammatory disease and toxic shock syndrome. As a result, the goal of this study was to measure both women's knowledge and practise of menstrual hygiene both across the end consumers and the employees within Vatsalya foundation.
