(MICA, 2023) Kuriakose, Jenson; Kiran, Manish; Saksena, Ruchi A.; Vempati, Sruthi; Joseph, Tanya; Shetty, Viraj
Our team was given the opportunity to visit the various villages where Deepak Foundation had set-up initiatives. We were expected to visit these villages and Self Help Groups (SHGs) to understand their objectives, functioning, and pain-points. At the same time it also included understanding the ethnographic aspects of a village. We were briefed on the structure of SHGs from the National Rural Livelihood Mission to the collective Village Organisations and the grassroot level SHGs. The villages we visited were Savli, Sua, Luvara, Naswadi, Por, Vankla and Nandesari. At these villages we interacted with various SHGs that made products like Neem Satva (Soaps, Sanitizers), Instant Khichdi, Spices, Masks, Cotton Wicks & Agarbattis. The last 2 days of our visit were scheduled for Project Vivek Vidya. Here were given an introduction on the Integrated Child Development Services and the 3 stages it intervenes.
