Ahmedabad Police : Study On Perception Of Women Safety In Ahmedabad
(MICA, 2018) Sharma, Keha; Andharia, Manthan; Chidambaram, Dhananjay; Shah, Harsh
Ahmedabad has since long carried an image of being a safe city for women. It comes in the top 3 safest cities in India based on the crime and safety index. Though the perception of Ahmedabad being safe remains, A research paper co-authored by Mr. Darshini Mahadevia showed that 52% of the women using the riverfront and 57% of the women using Lal Darwaja bus terminus having experienced sexual harassment mainly verbal, visual and stalking. Keeping the mission and vision of the Ahmedabad City Police in mind, which is “Service, Security, and Belief”, a team dedicated specifically towards the safety of women was formed, named “SHE Teams”. This was done with the aim of instilling confidence among women and to enhance safety. Ahmedabad police have also launched a 181-women safety mobile application called “Abhayam” on February 01, 2014, and over four lakh women have availed the service since, while over 82,000 women were rescued from a dangerous situation.” It is critical to understand the current awareness and experience of Ahmedabad citizens regarding these initiatives by Ahmedabad police and also to take stock of their notion of safety”

Rural Immersion project : Gujarat Forestry - Vishwavan & Zarwani Eco-Tourism Site
(MICA, 2020) Pawar, Aatman; Bharadwaj, Aniruddh; Chidambaram, Dhananjay; Sharma, Keha; Sethi, Paricheet; Kaur, Taranjot
Vishwa Van and Zarwani Falls are tourist sites on the periphery of The Statue of Unity. Vishwa Van boasts of flora from all over the world, that stands as a reminder of the role of forests in interdependence of various species on Earth. The problem that these sites face however is that the crowd visiting the Statue of Unity does not visit the other sites that the Tourism Ministry has developed. Zarwani Falls make for a perfect one day picnic for families and friends, however the months of April, May and June do not see much footfall due to the waterfall drying up. To tackle this problem, the Gujarat Tourism Ministry has developed an adventure park and camping sites. However, these initiatives have not been marketed well. After identifying the pain points and gathering basic information about both the sites, we decided to talk to the stakeholders to collect insights. A lot of our insights came from talking to the Forest Officers and visitors who have previously visited the sight. Then we brainstormed about different ideas that could be implemented. We carefully plotted out Consumer Journey for both the sites, and planned the media distribution that we would require on basis of the discovered touchpoints.
