    Rural Research Project: Changa
(MICA, 2014) Sheth, Bhumish; Varughese, Abhishek Abraham; Ganpule, Sejal
MICA and the Rural research program truly gave us our first opportunity of understand the rural market, and the learnings have left us spellbound. The research began on 20th September, 2014 and was conducted in the village of Changa, Anand District, Gujarat. In the research we tried to understand the awareness of the villagers about various brands and their consumption patterns. We also tried to study their media consumption and the distribution channels adopted by various brands (local and national) to serve these markets. The focus of the research however, was to understand the villagers, their lives and socio-economic problems faced by them. This was done so as to be able to assess the real needs of the villagers, decide on whether or not it is a communications problem at all and then come up with a communications strategy to solve the problem. This research report documents the work done by the team.
