(MICA, 2020) Batra, Akansha; Patil, Aniket; Fatehpuria, Mallika; Gaur, Smriti; Ray, Prachi; Singh, Udit
UNICEF started an Integrated Child Development Service (ICDS), operating through the Anganwadi Centre (AWC) of each village/ sub urbans. Under the THR program, AWC provides raw ration to beneficiaries of different age groups and also to severely underweight children. At present, the implementation of THR program in Gujarat is carried out in a phased manner. As the fortified Take Home Ration (THR) was not universal in Gujarat till December 2019, and was largely limited to the districts that have been included in the THR initiatives are Rural Morbi, Devbhumi, Dwarka, Gir Somnath, Jamnagar and Jamnagar Corporation. The main objective of THR initiatives by UNICEF :-To understand the impact of Ready to Eat ration on beneficiaries. The objective of this research is to map out the insights from the consumers of THR so that they can be leveraged to increase the likeliness of the THR among the TG. The research will focus on understanding the behavioral and attitudinal aspects by identifying the beliefs, attitude and motivation of the TG. This will be achieved by understanding their daily activities and then indulging into deeper conversations to achieve the objective. The insights achieved will help UNICEF to decide on which area they should focus immediately and which can be done in the future. These areas can be from communication, product development or distribution aspects.
