    Rural research project : Jan Vikas, SMC: The key to 100% literacy?

    Objective and Scope of Project: Objectives: (i) To understand the weaknesses of the current SMC model and suggest recommendations to Jan Vikas regarding the same. (ii) To recommend effective communication strategies and design a poster for the propagation of information regarding SMC. Scope of the project: Mr. Janisar Shaikh, the coordinator for Jan Vikas in Gujarat had assign Mr. Shehzad to visit government primary schools across 6 villages in and around Khambhat, talk to the respective principals, a few SMC members and the parents of the children studying in those schools. Mr. Shahzad also volunteered to take us along for on-ground activations in the form of a canopy where one-to-one interactions with the citizens of the village was imperative for dissemination of information.
