    Swacch Bharat Abhiyan: Evaluating the Communication Campaign by the Sanand Taluka Submitted

    Swacch Bharat Mission is a high focused plan of Government of India to ensure cleanliness, end open defecation& manual scavenging in country. It aims not only at building of toilets, but also behavioral change and solid waste management through a 5-year robust policy. The objective of the Swachh Bharat Mission is to have a 100% 'open defecation free' India by the 150th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi i.e. 2019. The key focus of the mission is on following areas- 1. Construction of individual, community, public and temporary toilets in urban areas. 2. Construction of toilets in schools, individual households and community sanitary complexes in rural areas. 3. Spreading information, education and communication (IEC) through Swacchta doots (foot soldiers), and 15% of the funds have been allotted for this. 4. Strengthening solid waste management in the cities (collection, transport, storage, recycling etc.).
