Item Ahmedabad City Police(MICA, 2019) Garg, Aditi; Gambhir, Bharat; Veer, Karam; Prasad, KshitijThe project involves a lot of stakeholders hence the primary objective was to identify stakeholders and target such stakeholders who have high impact and high involvement. In stages other stakeholders were covered in stages to not only provide corrective but also preventive solution. The nature of the project prevented the group from targeting all stakeholders at once rather a more trickling approach was used to come to a solution. Based on the guidelines given by the client the project did not include instances of domestic violence in the intervention points identified. An Overview The intervention suggestions though are based on qualitative and quantitative study of a single geographic location, jurisdiction area of satellite police station, yet can be generalized to the entire city of Ahmedabad. The team has relied heavily on evolving technology to come with solutions. The project is limited to safety of women in Ahmedabad at public places and does not include domestic violence against women as per the brief given by the client. The are under the project is Satellite police station and specifically the SHE team. The team did identify mind set change as an important aspect to improve safety, but since it is a continuous process the team could not achieve desired result.Item Rural Immersion project : Gramin Vikas Trust(MICA, 2020) Pandey, Ayush; Jain, Ananya; Patel, Dhruv; Prasad, Kshitij; Pant, Shiwali; Chugh, ShivanshiAs part of our rural immersion programme, we had the opportunity to measure the impact of construction of a well in two villages, situated in Gujarat, India. The villages are Nagrala & Jafarpura, both belonging to the district Dahod. Dahod district has a literacy rate of 45.46%. The district falls in the region of Middle Gujarat belonging to agro-climatic zone - III of Gujarat state. The average normal rainfall for the district is 1000mm to 1150 mm. Erratic and long dry spells are common even in rainy seasons. Therefore, the district faces drought situations frequently. Maize and Paddy are the two major kharif crops of the district while wheat and gram are the principal crops grown in rabi season. Bullocks are the main source of farm power. Although the district has an impressive cattle wealth, their productivity is very low as the cattle are poorly maintained. The project was to measure the impact and implications of the installation of the well, built by the community and its extent into various aspects of their lives. Some of the factors that were to be considered were impact on Crop production, How much increased Production from the same Area/Field, Changing in cropping Pattern Single (Kharif )Crops to Double/Triple crop (Kharif,Rabi,Summer), Impact on Socio Economic condition, Health Status, Impact on Livestock , Milk Production, Vegetable Production,Fodder Production, Drinking Water & Irrigation Water Problem and solution. Impact on Drop out ratio of children, Education Status and Overall impact in terms of Living Standard of Beneficiaries.
