Abstract
Barnet is a village located in Dharamshala Tehsil in Kangra district, Himachal Pradesh. It is 16 km from Dharamshala Town. It lies downhill from Satovari and the road from Dal Lake ends at this village. The village is one among the seven wards that comprise the Gram Panchayat of Bhatalla. The Gram Panchayat comprises of these following seven villages. The village lies in the more temperate zones of Kangra district and hence it has a pleasant climate overall. The summers are around April-June with temperatures reaching a maximum of 25C. The village receives a lot of rainfall during the monsoon months of (June-September) . Winters are extreme with temperatures dropping below zero and the area receives snowfall. The area receives enough rainfall to sustain its requisite irrigation except during summers when there might be a shortage which sometimes can get severe.
