Abstract
The Gentleman's Game has seen a rapid transformation in recent times- new formats of play, new gaming leagues and more opportunities for commercial infusion. Gautam Bhimani weighs in on this changing face of Cricket and the reasons behind the same.
Gautam Bhimani made his commentary debut at the Adelaide Oval in 2003-04 alongside Sunil Gavaskar, Geoffrey Boycott, Greg Chappell, Harsha Bhogle and Ravi Shastri. He has played multiple roles like copywriter, radio jockey, radio commentator, DJ and is the author of the engaging travel book 'Reverse Sweep'. He has even walked the ramp at fashion events across the country. His commentary has spread across sport to tennis and football, having been a part of EURO 2008, the FIFA world cup 2010 and Wimbledon 2015. He was awarded the Ramnath Goenka award for excellence in journalism by Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam in July 2007.
