Abstract

In our fast paced corporate lives we all hope to achieve healthy eating habits, but most of us succumb to the convenience of instant food. Vicky Ratnani, world renowned chef, believes that cooking your own food is an essential life skill to remaining healthy that we have been made to forget by companies marketing convenience. He deconstructs and simplifies cooking to drive the message that anybody can cook, in an attempt to create a generation of self sufficient home chefs. From having won the ‘Best Indian Chef’ award in 2015 to being the host of popular shows like ‘Vicky Goes Veg’, ‘Gourmet Central’ and ‘Vickypedia’, Vicky Ratnani is the final word when it comes to all things food. A gourmet chef who has travelled the length and breadth of the world, his cook book has become a necessity in every food aficionado's kitchen. He is known for his innovative cooking and produce based thinking where he is always in search of new ingredients and experimenting with them This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
