Rural Immersion Project – Area: Modasa, District: : Sabarkantha, State: Gujarat
Mahila Samajik Nyay Manch, which was initiated at Himmatnagar and Modasa leaders who work on voluntarily basis on issues of domestic violence. There are 15 permanent members in Himmatnagar and Modasa. They work for the same cause and do have joint meetings/ training when required since they are districts close to each other. Jan Vikas had been doing some work to rehabilitate families and other causes for the past decade in both Himmatnagar and Modasa. Few women who knew and involved with Jan Vikas came forward and asked them to aid them in fighting domestic violence since it was widespread in these areas. Based in thus suggestion and intent, Jan Vikas has been supporting Mahila Samajik Nyay Manch for the past 2 years.
