Abstract
This research has been done to achieve the above mentioned objective. We study the village of Lohajani in the Dhubri district of Assam, India through the lives of its people. We study the kind of occupation the people are involved in, the social structures that exist in the village and the aspirations of the youth among others. In particularly, there has been stress on the kind of communication through various media vehicles that reaches the village and the areas in which this communication is lacking.
Our study is through in depth interviews, focused group discussions and very importantly in observing and spending time with the people. After examining the kind of communication that reaches the people in the village, we infer where this communication is lacking and how it could be made better and more effective so as to improve the lives of people.
