The village remains snow covered for 6 months from early November to April. Summers are there for a very short duration of 2-3 months. Rainfall is very less in this region, mostly in the months of August and September. The temperature ranges from 15 degrees to -20 degrees in winters and 30 degrees to 4 degrees in summers. Nights here are very cold. The village is surrounded by snow covered peaks and hence cold wind blows though the village at all times. There are 13 residential blocks in the village. In addition to this there is a famous monastery named „Komic Lundup Tsemo Gompa‟. It is the highest motor able monastery in the world and was built in the 14th century. The population of the village is 100 people and the monastery acts as a shelter for around 100-150 monks at a time. The soil in the region is Shallow Loamy Skeletal soil. The terrain is predominantly rocky but there are areas around the village where one can find meadows with mild grass on them.
