Reliance Foundation as an organization is engaged with a lot of activities. The basic objective of the organization is long term sustainability. The idea is that rural transformation should result in rural development. The organization has clearly defined its area of operation under distinct pillars with clear mandate. The foundation’s core model is to directly engage with communities through a team of trained professional. Rural transformation is the largest division in all the verticals. For our project, we had to understand the reasons behind why some households choose not to associate with Reliance Foundation. We carried out our field research in Dhauleshwar Village, operating under the Modasa cluster. This village had a total of 250 households, 130 of which did not affiliate with RF. We closely studied both the factions to uncover the reason and devise a strategy going forward to tackle it. RF provides food, water and nutritional security to households that associate with it, in terms of Dharti Farms, Rain Water Harvesting, Bio Gas Plants, Seed Banks, Vermicomposting and Reliance Nutrition Gardens. Dhauleshwar village had its households divided amongst 12 falia (communities). We carried on our study inquiring about the impact of RNG (Reliance Nutrition Garden), Dharti Farms and Vermicomposting in the affiliate household. These 3 activities had an important say in the overall nutritional health and soil health.
