dc.description.abstractNalni is a tiny village situated in Nainital Tehsil which is a part of Nainital District, Uttarakhand. As per Population Census 2011, this village has 55 families residing in it. The population is 287 from which 152 are males and 135 are females. Population of children within the age bracket of 0-6 is 40. This constitutes 13.94% of the total village population. The average sex ratio of this village is 888. This is below the Uttarakhand State average sex ratio of 963. Child Sex Ratio of Nalni is 600 which is again lower than Uttarakhand average of 890. But when it comes to literacy rate, Nalni has a higher literacy rate compared to Uttarakhand. In 2011, literacy rate of Nalni was 89.47% while that of Uttarakhand was 78.82%. The Male literacy percentage is 100% while female literacy is 78.83%. Nalni does not have any population who belong to the Schedule Tribe. Scheduled Caste constitutes 16.03% of the total village population.
