Rural Immersion Project – Area: Kanhai Village, District: Gurgaon, State: Maharashtra
Kanhai Village is divided into two sections i.e. Kanhai Village and Kanhai Colony. Both the areas have multiple sources of water. The village consumes either Municipal water i.e. supplied to them by the Municipality or ground water. The Municipality water is supplied to them through pipes and is available to them only for 2 hours in the entire day. The houses have overhead tanks where they save the water to use it for the entire day. The second source of water in Kanhai village is underground water. This is more preferred by the villagers. They have tube wells installed in their houses that pumps the water up for use. Some of the houses have ROs fitted in their houses that cleans this water for further consumption.
