Abstract
Ahmadpur Pawan is a village in Kaurihar Tehsil in Allahabad District of Uttar Pradesh. It belongs to Allahabad Division. This village lies at the border of Allahabad and Kaushambi districts and Chail is the nearest town from this place. The nearby villages are Kuswan (1.7km), Akbarpur Sallahpur (2 km), Mardanpur (2 km), Janka (2 km), Mandar Daih Mafi (2 km), Asrouli Uparhar (2.6 km), Manauri (2.7 km). According to Census 2011, Ahmadpur Pawan had a population of 7092 people. The Postal Head Office is Manauri and Pin Code is 212208.
Villagers till their lands, grow crops and harvest them for their own needs than for selling them in the markets. More than 90% of the crops are sown to meet the local needs; the remaining tiny amount is sold in the mandis. The main crop in the village is the paddy crop commonly known as Dhaan. This is the main source of livelihood for the farmers. Apart from paddy, others like jowar, bajra and maize are also sown in the fields. Due to poor monsoons this season and tube wells barely serving the water needs of the crops, majority of the fields gave a depressing look of parched land. Almost the entire yield of paddy crop had dried up leaving farmers with few options to fend for themselves.
