Abstract

Rudyard Kipling said the word Spiti meant ‘a world within a world' – which is a relatively unknown world, tucked away in the Trans-Himalayan belt of Himachal Pradesh. The present administrative centre is Keylong in Lahaul. The area of Lahaul-Spiti is that part of Himachal Pradesh state. It comprises of the two once in the past independent regions of Lahaul and Spiti. The present governmental center is Keylong in Lahaul. It is the fourth least populous district in India (out of 640). (Lahaul and Spiti district) Standing at the stature of 14200 ft (4205 meters) above ocean level, Kibber is asserted to be the highest motor able town on the planet. It is likewise asserted to be the town with the highest polling station, highest post station and highest school.
