menstrual hygiene in rural locations for both Men and Women in the villages of Dahanu, Kosbad, Saphala, and Palghar.
2. Make the adoption of sanitary pads higher and to convince rural girls and women to stop usage of cloth etc.
3. Work on the manufacturing unit of the Sakhi Pads and improve the efficiency of manufacturing and also understand and improve working nuances faced by the manufacturing units.
Objective Defined - De-stigmatizing menstruation and spreading awareness about menstrual hygiene Before we went to the location: On our very first day of rural immersion, we
were asked to report to the Ahmedabad manufacturing unit of Sakhi in Jahangirpura. After our arrival there, the volunteers of the Vatsalya Foundation gave us a brief about our project and explained to us the
difference between an organic pad and a non-organic one. Ms Anita Chauhan, one of the managers at the manufacturing unit took us through the whole process of making an organic pad, right from measuring the fibre to sealing and packaging it.
