Abstract
The rural research project was conducted in Village Kapari in the Shankargarh block of Uttar Pradesh. Shankargarh is a block situated in the south-west direction of
Allahabad. It is somewhere along the NH-6 that stretches from Allahabad to Chitrakoot and the same roadway can be chosen to get there. It is approximately 52
km from the Prayaag city in Uttar Pradesh.
Shankargarh has 60 villages under its jurisdiction i.e. 60 gram panchayats in all which in turn have 211 villages under them. The following describes the structure.
SHANKARGARH block, in Bara Tehsil is part of district Allahabad in Uttar Pradesh. A mere 50kms away from the district headquarters, it is a model of absolute poverty in
all its manifestations. It is surrounded by the Hills of the Vindhyachal range and is known for its large stone quarries and silica mines providing stones, boulders and
allied products to the building industry. Due to the stony soil in Shankargarh, plants and trees with deep roots cannot survive thus making Shankargarh a low agriculture-producing region.
