Abstract
Parenting is a tough job, especially when one struggles to put food on the table. During the project, we came across interesting insights and eye-opening truths about how the families from low socioeconomic backgrounds strive to earn money doing all kinds of jobs, sometimes more than one, to make sure their children are provided with the basic necessities. They all have high dreams for their children and want them to succeed. Even though most fathers do not get to spend a lot of time with their children due to their work schedules, they realise the fact that the presence of both parents is crucial during the growing up years of children. These families equate spending
time with kids as providing the bare minimum since for most part, that’s the most they can do, given their financial conditions. Thus if their economic conditions were to improve, their kids would get much more attention and care and consequently would be able to get the support they need to achieve what they want.
