Abstract

Bishankhedi does not come under a Gram Panchayat as it falls in the city limits and it comes under Ward No. 40 of the Nagar Nigam. There are a number of institutions like National Judicial Academy, Indian Institute of Forest Management, etc., on the way to Bisankhedi from Bhopal city. The main occupation of villagers in Bisankhedi is farming. Most of the households have some amount of land holdings and they practice farming there. With the coming up of multiple schools, colleges along with the existing Sports Authority of India Complex in the vicinity of the village many jobs have opened up for the villagers. They work as security guards, watchmen, gardeners, daily wage labourers in these institutions. A few girls, who are educated till 12th, work as teachers in the private school in the village. A few people also work as taxi drivers, with one person having his own taxi. Villagers who have a few cows & buffalos also sell milk to the milkman. The Patel family runs a Dairy from their house, with the eldest brother selling milk on his bike in the city.
