Abstract
Mothers did not give any other food item or water other than breast feeding to kids below 6 months of age. As soon as the baby was above 6 months of age, breastfeeding happened according to the need of the
baby and other semi-solid food was given to the child. The consistency of the food was taken care of in both the villages. The baby was provided Bal Shakti mixture if the child was hungry over and above of breastfeeding and his/her normal daily food.
The meal is prepared separately for the babies below 11 months of age.
Kids above the age of 11 months have developed a taste for almost all kinds of meals that the family eats so there is no separate preparation for them.
