Watershed committee (vwc) in Singalda with Gujarat government watershed development component of pradhan mantri krishi sinchayee yojana (pmksy - wdc)

Abstract

In our research on the impact of the Singalda Watershed Project, we employed ethnographic research techniques that went beyond standard interviews. Multiple immersive field visits allowed us to integrate deeply into the life of Singalda Village. Engaging in daily routines with the villagers and farmers was key to building trust and facilitating more honest conversations. By actively participating in community activities, attending local events, and observing daily life, we gained invaluable cultural insights. We became part of the community, fostering a level of trust that encouraged open discussions and provided a genuine understanding of the challenges faced by the villagers. This immersive research methodology, rooted in daily engagement and keen observation, allowed us to present a comprehensive and authentic portrayal of Singalda Village's dynamics, enriching our analysis of the Singalda Watershed Project's impact on the community.
