Abstract
Krushidhan Producer Company Limited has been conceptualized with core objective of mutual benefits to farmers (through collective efforts led by farmer). Company also aims at enterprise development and promotion of sustainable agricultural interventions as well quality products. While sole purpose of conceptualization of the company has been benefit to member farmers through enterprise development, creation of profit making entity is visualized as the by-product of the interventions. Hence careful considerations have been done for structuring the company, selection of members and directors as well as scope of activities.
DSC’s aim is to strive for socio-economic upliftment of especially small and marginal farmers and make them self-reliant. To achieve the same, KPCL provides good quality of seeds, fertilizers and chemical pesticides at fair rates to the farmers. It also conducts knowledge dissemination of best agricultural practices through field visits, practical and audio visual demonstrations and in-person advice of the right fertilizers and pesticides to be used for best
results.To encourage women of the families to become self-reliant, it has started the initiative of establishing women Self-Help Groups (SHGs) that produce and sell products such as organic fertilizers (vermi compost), biopesticides, spices, etc. after training them for the same.
