P(I) exists to enable the empowerment of rural communities and groups, particularly the under-privileged and women, to take control over their lives and manage their environment, to create a better and more equitable society.” AKRSPI is active across multiple states and villages in the country. They help the people from over 2000 villages across 3 states of MP, Bihar and Gujarat. The focus of the organization is more for women in the country. In a patriarchal society, often the biggest sufferers are the women in the society. Over 60% of the total people helped by AKRSPI are women. This means, SHGs become of extreme importance for the group.
