dc.description.abstractSamvedana’s most recent project, Vasant Pathshala, aims to act as a solution to the problem of lack of good quality education in rural areas - most of the schools in those areas lack proper infrastructure and have poor teaching faculty. The core idea behind Vasant Pathshala is to provide meaningful, good quality education using the English language as a learning tool. Along with literacy, they aim to work on social skills, communication skills, digital literacy, creativity, vocational skills and more for integrated development of the student. Since the school is located near a village, the majority of the students come from the agricultural background. The parents are either farmers or farm workers. Samvedana recognised that most of the parents urge their kids to migrate and settle down in big cities in the future. Vasant Pathshala is working to give them an alternative which can help them develop their lives without either deviating from their roots or migrating to the cities. Keeping this in mind, Samvedana also asked us to understand the reasons behind this common perspective.
