Abstract
Bodinayakanur is situated at the foot-hill of Western ghats in Theni district. It is located on the Cochin-Madurai-RameswaramNational Highway 49 (India). It is accessible by the road from Chennai, Madurai and various parts of the State. Bodinayakanur was connected with Madurai by meter-gauge railway until December 2010 after which the service was stopped for gauge conversion to broad-gauge.The first challenge is to get to Theni. So we boarded a train from Chennai and landed at Madurai. We then took a bus from Madurai to Theni immediately. We booked rooms at Theni and then proceeded towards Bodinayakkanur and then eventually Kottagudi both by bus. It is a distance of around 120 kms from Theni and took us around 3 hours to reach the village from Theni.
