Rural Immersion Project – Village: Ghodegaon, District: Pune, State: Maharashtra
Below is the data showing the number of institution that offers various kinds of education. This data again comprises of the entire state of Maharashtra, rural and urban parts included. The number of pre-primary schools is very high due to the fact that each of these schools can house only a very small number of students. Also, they are highly concentrated in the urban areas of the state. As the graph shows, the number of primary schools is reasonably high but as we progress towards higher education, the number of institutions offering higher education gradually drop. This emphasizes the fact that as the education levels progress, the number of dropouts increase, also the effort put by the government to provide higher education is insufficient.
