Abstract
We were given a list of 15 villages divided into 5 clusters by the client who acted as the treatment group. These 15 villages were, where CSPC has used the IEC tools to a great extent. Apart from these 15 villages, we were also given a list of 4 villages that acted as a control group. These villages didn’t have much coverage in terms of IEC tools by CSPC. To achieve our objective of understanding the effectiveness of the IEC tools used by CSPC, we
used the techniques of focus group discussions and in-depth interviews. We decided to have a sample size of 20-25 people from each village due to the average population size of each of those villages. A size of 20-25 gave us significant coverage of the village regarding gender, social, economic, and cultural background.
Our preferred research method was focus group discussion. We chose focus group discussion as one of the methods as it allowed us to learn about the activities conducted by the villagers from diverse backgrounds( economic, social, etc.) in one place within a short period. In some places where we could not conduct focus group discussions, especially in the case of female participants, we used in-depth interviews. The in-depth was also used where we found the
responses from the focus group discussions to be unsatisfactory.
