Rural Immersion Project – Area Chhota Udepur, District: Chhota Udepur, State: GujaratRural development & problems, study by students
Chhotaudepur district is one of the most under developed areas of Gujarat. It has predominantly a tribal population dependent on rain fed agriculture on their small and marginal land holdings. Thirty years back the area was marred by very low levels of literacy, lack of infrastructure and communication facilities and hence almost untouched by development. Most farmers in the area were ignorant about the latest development and technology in the field of agriculture hence prone to drudgery. With a deep understanding from the Company Overview and details laid out by SGS, we identified the following Marketing Research Objective - To arrive at a comprehensive marketing strategy for the Handicraft Division of SGS. • To analyse and strengthen Forward linkages through a detailed distribution and communication plan.
