dc.description.abstractIn the Ahir community with is the most dominant community in the village all wedding take place on a single day in a year. This day is the Adhari teras in the Baishakh maas. There are usually close to 50 weddings that place on this day people marry within their own homes and then there is a common dinner in the temple courtyard. It is an economical way of conducting the wedding since all families contribute for the dinner. The dinner is held in the Radha Krishna Mandir, who are supposed to be the Kul devi-devta of the Ahirs In the rabari’s marriage happen at a later age sometimes even as late as 28 years. The women go permanently to her husband's house only after she gets pregnant The village did not have a concept of joint families. Usually after marriage parents would give the son a new place to stay in the same area. Inter-caste marriages are also not allowed. Some of the major festivals celebrated are Navratri, ganesh Utsav, Diwali, Janmastami. The entire village comes together for the celebrations.
