Abstract
So many of us dream of championing change, so few of us actually do it. Purvi Vyas, a full time organic farmer takes us through her inspiring journey of creating a self-sustaining ecosystem - for the farm, by the farm, and of the farm. She makes a compelling case for transforming the food industry from a one that sells convenience, to a one that nourishes the mind, body, and soul. After completing her master’s in Environmental Management from the University of Western Sydney, Purvi Vyas has been associated with various NGOs working on the sustainable development. She lives in her organic farm, which is 70-80% self-sustainable. She teaches everything about food- the food system, the politics behind our food choices defined by the market and impact of these choices on the earth at several universities This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
