Abstract
Jaipur Rugs, as the name suggests, is one of India's largest manufacturers of hand-knotted rugs. The headquarters is in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Jaipur rugs currently cater operations in six states in India, and recently, they have opened shops in Dubai and Milan also. This goes to show the trend and appetite for luxurious rugs. The company has a huge distribution base across the world also. Jaipur rugs were established by Nand Kishore Chaudhary (NKC) in 1978. He formed the firm as a social enterprise to help cherish the lives of the underpaid carpet weavers who have always been disadvantaged by their own social background. He borrowed roughly around 5000 rupees from his father to start the venture. During the commencement era, he just bought 2 looms and started carpet weaving. Now it has grown to the number of ten thousand.
