Rural Research Projcet: Spread awareness on Menstrual Hygiene

Abstract

Vatsalya Foundation, manufactures and distributes sanitary napkins at a low cost under the brand name ‘Sakhi’. Vatsalya Foundation headed by Swati Bedekar provides these napkins at a minimal cost of INR2, so that women can make a switch from cloth rags to sanitary napkins. The following text is a documentation of our research, the various data points that we utilized, insights we discovered and the methodology employed during the Rural Immersion Visit. It also tries to list some suggestions for the Vatsalya Foundation that can be directly deciphered from the information we collected and presented. We also attempted to document some of the problems the team faced during the Rural Immersion, the strategies we employed to overcome these problems and the learning gathered from this process.
