Abstract
Despite their popularity, the general perception of models or modelling is not very flattering. Modelling as a profession is not given the respect it deserves. Dipannita Sharma, with dignified grit and playful satire uses her own career graph and personality to redefine fashion in today's age - as a profession, an art, a discipline and to a great extent - a way of life. Watch her disrupt the many 'myths' about the fashion industry as a first-hand account. From walking the ramp for fashion powerhouses like Valentino and Fendi to starring in hits like 'Ladies vs Ricky Behl' and judging 'MTV - Making the Cut'. Dipannita Sharma has seen all the facets of the entertainment industry. Apart from her extensive work in the media sector, she has also been an entrepreneur in the luxury industry since 2011. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
