    Indian kids online : negotiating the global and the digital flows - a pilot study report

    The study, Indian Kids Online: negotiating the global and the digital flows, which explores online access to information/ data/social media, user experiences, and the impact of online risks and opportunities on children’s wellbeing was conducted for the first time in India in the framework of a partnership formed by Global Kids Online, and CDMCÐMICA, Ahmedabad, India. This research study is part of an international project that seeks to gather rigorous and comparable evidence on children’s use of the Internet and inform them of the dangers and opportunities children face online. Global Kids Online is a collaborative initiative of the UNICEF Innocenti Research Center, the London School of Economics, and the EU Kids Online Network. Over 40 countries have now implemented this research project in Europe, Latin America, Africa, and Asia.

    Indian council of medical research : health communication course

    Established in 1911, ICMR is the apex body in India for the formulation and coordination of biomedical research. It is an autonomous body under the Department of Health Research, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), Government of India. Its research priorities coincide with the national health policies towards prevention of communicable and non-communicable diseases, improving reproductive and child health and nutrition, and promoting basic medical sciences and drug research including traditional medicines. ICMR promotes biomedical research in the country through intramural and extramural research. Global Health Strategies (GHS) is an international organization that raises awareness and provides support to address public health challenges facing emerging economies. GHS research and analyse policy, provide evidence-based solutions for producing introductions, develops audience-specific advocacy and communications strategies and materials, and implements programs on health-related issues. This certificate course in health communications, developed by the Centre for Development Management and Communication (CDMC)-MICA, Ahmedabad in partnership with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and Global Health Strategies (GHS), plans to strengthen communication strategies used by the scientists and their associates working on different health projects to inform and ultimately influence individual and community decisions that affect health.

    Two-day in-person training program on strategic communication via research and documentation

    Effective communication is pivotal for ensuring seamless operations and fostering public trust in today's rapidly evolving governmental landscape. A tailored training program to fortify communication skills through research and documentation is indispensable for government officials. By honing these capabilities, officials can adeptly convey complex policies, initiatives, and regulations to diverse stakeholders with clarity and precision. Moreover, rigorous documentation and robust research methodologies empower officials to substantiate their content with evidence-based insights, bolstering credibility and informed decision-making. Documenting key findings and processes facilitates knowledge retention and enables efficient knowledge sharing within government departments, fostering a culture of transparency and accountability. Ultimately, investing in such a training program equips government officials with the indispensable tools to navigate the intricacies of governance effectively, and create effective stories and narratives enhancing overall efficiency and public service delivery. The training program was generally informative and well-organized, offering valuable insights into critical thinking, communication, and research. Nevertheless, there is space for enhancement, particularly in enhancing practical applications by increasing the number of hands-on activities. All the participants were requested to fill up a feedback form for each facilitator after each session and all the facilitators received a close to perfect rating for their topics, the participants were very engaging and the facilitators had put in all the efforts to make their sessions interactive for the participants using case studies, role plays, group discussions etc. Annexures Session Feedback Analysis: The training program was generally informative and well-organized, offering valuable insights into critical thinking, communication, and research.     In today's fast-paced world, effective communication and media management is essential for any organisation's success. The Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) plays a critical role in shaping public perception, disseminating accurate information, and building strong relationships with stakeholders. However, the communication landscape is constantly evolving. The rise of social media, diverse audiences, and the need for crisis preparedness necessitate a well-equipped and adaptable DIPR team. Program Objectives This Capacity Development Program aims to equip DIPR staff with the knowledge, skills, and tools to become strategic communicators. Through a series of interactive workshops and sessions, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the communication process, audience engagement strategies, and effective utilization of both traditional and social media channels.

    AMTS Staff Training Programme

    Mobility services, especially public services operated by the government, are the lifeline of social and economic development of an area. Past studies indicate a direct link between the two. Therefore, any improvement in public service would lead to an improvement of the quality of life of the citizens. In this light, the current program focused upon the customer service orientation of the frontline staff of the BRTS bus service in the city of Ahmedabad. The training was planned to achieve the following objectives: • An improved sensitivity towards customers vis-à-vis their pain points. • An enhanced sense of service-orientation • A basic repertoire of responses which indicate empathy towards the customers

    FactShala zonal hub - a pan India student media literacy initiative

    During the period of September ‘23 to March ‘24, the FactShala Zonal Hub located at MICA, Ahmedabad, undertook a significant and impactful endeavor to promote media literacy initiatives. By means of a succession of inventive endeavors encompassing radio programs, seminars, discussions, and interactive sessions, our group achieved noteworthy progress in endorsing in our audience responsible media usage, digital literacy, and critical thinking. Significant accomplishments of our expedition encompass the effective inception of radio programs that tackle media literacy subjects, thought-provoking seminars and debates that cultivate intellectual dialogue, and interactive sessions that facilitate practical learning experiences. Notwithstanding the obstacles presented by language policies, technical difficulties, and data constraints, our team maintained a resolute and dedicated stance towards executing influential media literacy initiatives. Moving forward, our accomplishments serve as a source of motivation, while the feedback we receive motivates us to continue improving our program. Our program objectives fostered inclusivity, effectiveness, and interactivity through the following means: expanding online resources, collaborating with local experts, enhancing audience engagement. We are certain that through the implementation of these strategies and recommendations, we will be able to equip individuals with the necessary expertise and capabilities to effectively navigate the intricate information ecosystem of the digital age.

AF is appreciated widely for its balance between need-based development projects addressing local needs and forerunner projects addressing issues of national importance aligning itself with sustainable development goals. Adani Vidyamandir, SuPoshan, Swachhagraha, and Saksham such pan India projects to name a few.
